Principal Instructor
Jean began her Irish Dancing career at the age of seven, along with her sister Carmel and danced for the Colmcille School under the instruction of Mauretta Armstrong. She competed at world championship level and gained top five placings in ceili and figure.
In 1982, after a very successful dancing career Jean hung up her shoes and began studying for the TCRG examination. She passed and formed her own school registered under An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dancing Commission based in Dublin, Ireland). In her years of teaching, her expertise has led to her pupils reaching the ultimate goal of becoming Solo, Ceili and Figure WORLD CHAMPIONS.
In 2004, she re-established her school as The Jean Davis Academy and began classes in Longbridge and Rednal; this has now expanded with classes now in Aston. Jean's expertise in Irish Dance and Choreography has led to her travelling the world. She is regularly requested to conduct workshops throughout the UK and USA and is in high demand for exhibtions and displays for prestigous events..
Jean believes that the best way to learn something is to love it first. This is evident in the happy and successful children in every class.
