Joseph Davis

Instructor

Joseph was only five days old when he attended his first dance class. Comfortable in a crib at his mom’s dance class, he absorbed the atmosphere and the rhythm of the Irish Dancing world. Joseph competed at his first feis at the age of three and by his second feis had moved up through the grades into Open Championship. He has owned the title of British Midland Champion for 13 years.

At the age of 10, Joseph placed third in his first ever Solo World Championship. The next day, he won two Gold Medals for ceili and figure at the Glasgow 2002 World Championship. Since then he has consistently placed in the top five at all major championships which includes British National Champion.

He started instructing at The Jean Davis Academy at the age of 15 years and is delighted to have the opportunity to share his love for Irish Dancing. He shares his mom’s belief that in order to excel at something you must love it first.

He has competed all over the UK, Ireland and the USA and is also requested to give workshops in solo, ceili and figure dancing accross the UK and USA. In 2010, Joseph was requested to instruct students at the University of Birmingham the art of Irish Dance. Through Irish Dancing Joe has met and made many lifelong friends whom live across the globe.
